Regular Season Round 19: Palanga - Petrochema 86-83

The most exciting game of round 19 in the NKL took place in Palanga. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 7th ranked Petrochema (10-9) to sixth ranked Palanga (11-8) 86-83 on Friday evening. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Petrochema won fourth quarter 22-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Palanga made 19-of-23 free shots (82.6 percent) during the game. Point guard Deividas Anuzis (184-92) fired a double-double by scoring 13 points, 11 rebounds and 9 assists for the winners. American-Jamaican forward Kore White (205-89, college: S.Florida) chipped in 20 points and 9 rebounds. Five Palanga players scored in double figures. point guard Tadas Sebeziovas (185-85) produced 19 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists and forward Henrikas Vorotnikovas (203-90) added 22 points respectively for lost side. Petrochema's coach Kestutis Narusevicius rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Palanga moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Perlas-MRU. Petrochema at the other side dropped to the sixth position with nine games lost. They share it with Zalgiris II. Palanga is looking forward to face Rasai (#13) in Raseiniai in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Petrochema will play at home against the league's leader Suduva-Mantinga (#1) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
