Regular Season Round 8: Lille - Provence Basket 66-73

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both eleventh ranked Provence Basket and 12th ranked Lille Metropole had identical 3-4 record. But Lille Metropole was not able to use a home court advantage and lost to the opponent from Fos-sur-Mer 73-66 on Friday night. The game without a history. Provence Basket led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. The best player for the winners was American-Nigerian Derrick Obasohan (203-81, college: Texas Arlington, agency: Beo Basket) who scored 25 points and 5 rebounds. Naturalized Congolese point guard Loic Akono (176-87, agency: Comsport) chipped in 16 points. Four Provence Basket players scored in double figures. Center Guy-Marc Michel (213-88, college: Indiana, agency: Three Eye Sports) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds and American guard Jamal Jones (203-93, college: Texas A&M, agency: HMS) added 18 points respectively for the hosts. Provence Basket (4-4) moved-up to ninth place. Lille Metropole lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the twelfth position with five games lost. Provence Basket will face JA Vichy (#11) at home in the next round. Lille Metropole will play against the league's leader Hyeres-Toulon and will have a slim chance for a victory.
