Regular Season Round 14: Bordeaux - Caen 87-84

There was a surprise result when sixteenth ranked JSA Bordeaux (5-9) edged at home higher ranked Caen (7-7) 87-84 on Friday. The hosts trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 5-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 87-84. JSA Bordeaux forced 20 Caen turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Caen was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American Kevin Rogers (206-86, college: Baylor) who scored 22 points and 6 rebounds. Ahmed Doumbia (195-89) chipped in 14 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Five JSA Bordeaux players scored in double figures. American Bill Clark (200-88, college: Duquesne) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points, 10 rebounds and 9 assists and his fellow American import power forward Marvin Phillips (203-83, college: Claflin) added 16 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. JSA Bordeaux moved-up to fifteenth place, which they share with Quimper. Newly promoted Caen dropped to the twelfth position with seven games lost. JSA Bordeaux will face higher ranked Berck (#14) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
