Regular Season Round 11: Maccabi K/G - Hapoel Holon 97-77

Bottom-ranked Maccabi K/G managed to get a third victory, breaking the series of five consecutive losses on Sunday night. This time newly promoted Maccabi K/G outleveled tenth-ranked Hapoel Holon in Kiryat Gat 97-77. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 20-point difference suggests that Maccabi K/G is in a good shape to leave the bottom place. The game without a history. Maccabi K/G led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 22-of-29 free shots (75.9 percent) during the game. Maccabi K/G outrebounded Hapoel Holon 41-25 including a 32-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The game was dominated by American players. It was a great evening for point guard Paul Delaney (188-86, college: UAB, agency: Three Eye Sports) who led his team to a victory scoring 22 points, 5 assists and 4 steals. Swingman Alando Tucker (198-84, college: Wisconsin) helped adding 18 points and 8 rebounds. Four Maccabi K/G players scored in double figures. Maccabi K/G's coach Natan Cohen used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Mike Moser (203-90, college: Oregon, agency: Pensack Sports) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds and power forward Jeremis Smith (203-86, college: Georgia Tech, agency: Pro Sports) scored 12 points and 7 rebounds. Maccabi K/G (3-8) moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Ironi Nes-Ziona. Loser Hapoel Holon keeps the tenth position with seven games lost. Maccabi K/G will meet at home higher ranked Maccabi T-A (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Hapoel Holon will play against Bnei Hasharon (#4) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
