Regular Season Round 17: Shanxi Zh. - DongGuan L. 102-117

Rather predictable result in Taiyuan where ninth ranked DongGuan Leopards (9-8) defeated 11th ranked Shanxi Zhongyu (7-10) 117-102. Shanxi Zhongyu was ahead by 12 points after three quarters before a 44-17 charge of DongGuan Leopards, which allowed them to win the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. Americans were the main players on the court. Point guard Bobby Brown (188-84, college: CS Fullerton) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 28 points, 7 rebounds and 15 assists. Dominic McGuire (206-85, college: Fresno St., agency: Priority Sports) contributed with 14 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Guard Dominique Jones (193-88, college: S.Florida) answered with a double-double by scoring 40 points (!!!), 12 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 steals and power forward Yancy Gates (206-89, college: Cincinnati) added 16 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Shanxi Zhongyu. Five DongGuan Leopards and four Shanxi Zhongyu players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. DongGuan Leopards maintains ninth place with 9-8 record. Shanxi Zhongyu at the other side keeps the eleventh position with ten games lost. DongGuan Leopards' next round opponent will be bottom-ranked TianJin Steel (#20) in Tianjin which should be an easy win for them. Shanxi Zhongyu will play on the road against Fujian (#15) in Jinjiang and hope to win that game.
