Regular Season Round 18: Fujian QB - Shanxi Zh. 118-100

There was a minor upset in Jinjiang where 12th ranked Shanxi Zhongyu (7-11) was defeated by fifteenth ranked Fujian (7-11) 118-100. The game without a history. Fujian led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 22-of-22 charity shots (100 percent !!!) during the game. Fujian brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. Lebanese swingman Fadi Khatib (199-79) notched 53 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 5 assists (went 14 for 14 at the free throw line !!!) to lead the effort and American point guard Dwight Buycks (191-89, college: Marquette) supported him with 28 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals. Even a double-double of 19 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists by American guard Dominique Jones (193-88, college: S.Florida) did not help to save the game for Shanxi Zhongyu. Guard LingXu Zeng (193-87) added 20 points and 5 rebounds. Five Shanxi Zhongyu players scored in double figures. Shanxi Zhongyu's coach rotated twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Fujian moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Shanxi Zhongyu. Fujian's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Zhejiang Guangsha Lions in Hangzhou and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
