The game between closely ranked teams ended with 6th ranked Asker Aliens' (5-5) road loss to fifth ranked Kongsberg (7-5) 71-76 on Thursday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 26-23. But Asker Aliens won second period 22-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American guard Aareon Smith (193-93, college: Mo.-St.Louis) had a double-double by scoring 28 points and 13 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import guard Brandon Boggs (196-92, college: W.Carolina) chipped in 20 points and 5 assists during the contest. Kongsberg's coach Bard Stoller used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was DR Congolese power forward Djo Yele (203-82) with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 17 rebounds and the former international guard Espen Stien (186-86) scored 19 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Newly promoted Kongsberg maintains fifth position with 7-5 record. Defending champion Asker Aliens dropped to the seventh place with five games lost. Kongsberg will meet at home league's second-placed Tromso in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Asker Aliens will play against Gimle BBK (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
