Very important is a road loss of second ranked Petrochimi (9-3) against fifth ranked Shahrdari Gorgan (7-5) on Thursday night. Visiting Petrochimi was defeated by Shahrdari Gorgan in Gorgan 70-59. It ended at the same time the eight-game winning streak of Petrochimi. The game without a history. Shahrdari Gorgan led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 16-of-18 charity shots (88.9 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was British power forward Ryan Richards (212-91, agency: Three Eye Sports) who scored 29 points and 5 rebounds. Guard Adnan Doraghi (190-88) chipped in 16 points. At the other side the best for losing team was international Behnam Yakhchali (197-95) who recorded 7 points and 16 rebounds and international swingman Saeed Davarpanah (190-87, agency: Interperformances) added 9 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Petrochimi's coach Mehran Shahintab rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Shahrdari Gorgan moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Azad. Petrochimi at the other side still keeps top position with three games lost. Shahrdari Gorgan's next round opponent will be Arak (#6) on the road. Petrochimi will play against the league's second-placed Naft Abadan (#2) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
