Regular Season Round 10: Saigon H. - Mono Vampire 90-79

Date: December 18, 2015
The game between closely ranked teams ended with 5th ranked Thailand Mono Vampire's (2-9) road loss to fourth ranked Vietnamese Saigon Heat (4-5) 79-90. Mono Vampire was ahead by 1 point at the halftime before a 50-38 second half run of Saigon Heat. 24 personal fouls committed by Mono Vampire helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American players dominated the game. Center Will Creekmore (205-89, college: Missouri St.) notched a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds to lead the effort and Lenny Daniel (203-87, college: CS Northridge) supported him with 18 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Four Saigon Heat players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 29 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists by center Anthony McClain (213-88, college: Cincinnati) did not help to save the game for Mono Vampire. Power forward Paul Butorac (208-83, college: E.Washington) added 11 points and 5 rebounds for lost side. Mono Vampire's coach tested twelve players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Saigon Heat maintains fourth position with 4-5 record. Defending Thailand champion Mono Vampire keeps the fifth place with nine games lost. Saigon Heat's next round opponent will be bottom-ranked Pilipinas Agilas (#6) in Mindanao. Mono Vampire will play on the road against the league's second-placed Singapore Slingers and hope to win that game.
