Regular Season Round 15: Chemnitz - Gotha 62-79

The game in Chemnitz was also worth to mention about. Fourth ranked Oettinger Rockets Gotha (10-5) played at the court of 6th ranked BV Chemnitz 99 (8-7). Oettinger Rockets Gotha did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 79-62. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of BV Chemnitz 99. American players dominated the game. It was a great evening for power forward Joe Lawson (201-92, college: Indianapolis, agency: Interperformances) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds. Guard Carlton Guyton (193-90, college: Kent St.) helped adding 17 points and 7 steals. Lawson is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. The best for the losing side was point guard Virgil Matthews (188-83, college: Montana, agency: Court Side) with 18 points and 5 assists and guard Dashaun Wiggins (188-91, college: Portland St.) scored 16 points. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Oettinger Rockets Gotha maintains fourth place with 10-5 record. BV Chemnitz 99 at the other side dropped to the eighth position with seven games lost. Oettinger Rockets Gotha will play against league's second-placed Kirchheim Knights at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. BV Chemnitz 99 will play against MLP Academics Heidelberg (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
