Everything went according to plan when second ranked Napoli Basket (11-2) outscored at home 14th ranked Fondi (2-11) 93-71 on Sunday. Napoli Basket dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Fondi's 36. They outrebounded Fondi 48-32 including a 35-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. Napoli Basket looked well-organized offensively handing out 33 assists comparing to just 19 passes made by Fondi's players. Guard Simone Berti (196-85) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 6 rebounds and 12 assists for the winners and point guard Nunzio Sabbatino (190-92, agency: Players Group) chipped in 18 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. At the losing side naturalized San Marino power forward Igor Biordi (200-96) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Antonello Lilliu (182-82) scored 15 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Five Napoli Basket and four Fondi players scored in double figures. Napoli Basket maintains second place in B with 11-2 record behind leader Forli. Loser Fondi keeps the fourteenth position with 11 games lost. Napoli Basket will face Venafro (#16) on the road in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Fondi will play against Palermo and hope to win that game.
