Regular Season Round 17: MBK Ruzomb. - Samorin 98-43

An interesting game for MBK Ruzomberok (13-4) which hosted in Ruzomberok 4th placed Samorin (8-9). Third ranked MBK Ruzomberok had an easy win 98-43. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Samorin. The game without a history. MBK Ruzomberok led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Samorin's 28. MBK Ruzomberok forced 21 Samorin turnovers and outrebounded them 41-14 including a 27-10 advantage in defensive rebounds. MBK Ruzomberok looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Samorin's players. International forward Katarina Tetemondova (188-88) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 15 rebounds and 6 assists. The former international point guard Zuzana Lazarova (168-87) contributed with 13 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Five MBK Ruzomberok players scored in double figures. MBK Ruzomberok's coach felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Zuzana Mracnova (180-80) answered with 22 points and point guard Petra Bartanusova (173-92) added 13 points in the effort for Samorin. MBK Ruzomberok have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain third place with 13-4 record having just two points less than leader Good Angels. Samorin at the other side keeps the fourth position with nine games lost. MBK Ruzomberok are looking forward to face league's second-placed Piestanske C. in Piestany in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Samorin will play on the road against the league's leader Good Angels in Kosice and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
