Very predictable result in Urumqi where second ranked Xinjiang Flying Tige (18-3) beat 14th ranked North Control (7-14) 109-94 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Xinjiang Flying Tige. North Control was better in third quarter 28-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Xinjiang Flying Tige forced 22 North Control turnovers and outrebounded them 42-28 including 28 on the defensive glass. North Control was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American-Filipino power forward Andray Blatche (211-86) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 13 rebounds. American guard Andrew Goudelock (190-88, college: Charleston) chipped in 31 points. At the other side the best for losing team was Uruguayan-Spanish power forward Esteban Batista (208-83, agency: Duran International) who recorded 30 points and 6 steals (on 15-of-18 shooting from the field) and American forward Dorell Wright (206-85) added 19 points and 10 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Xinjiang Flying Tige maintains second place with 18-3 record behind leader Guangsha L. North Control lost sixth consecutive game. They dropped to the sixteenth position with 14 games lost. Xinjiang Flying Tige will face Shanghai Sharks (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. North Control will play against Qingdao Eagles (#11) and hope to win that game.
