Very expected game in Zielona Gora where 6th ranked Asseco (9-4) was crushed by first ranked Stelmet (11-2) 100-57 on Wednesday. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 22-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 100-57. Stelmet made 19-of-22 free shots (86.4 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Asseco turnovers and outrebounded them 45-30 including 35 on the defensive glass. Stelmet looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international swingman Przemyslaw Zamojski (193-86, college: Independence CC) who helped to win the game recording 15 points and 5 rebounds and the former international power forward Szymon Szewczyk (209-82) who added 13 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Four Stelmet players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was center Jakub Parzenski (212-91) with 9 points and 10 rebounds and the former international forward Piotr Szczotka (196-81, agency: Alti Sport) scored 10 points and 6 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion maintains first position with 11-2 record. Asseco at the other side dropped to the fourth place with four games lost. Stelmet will face Stal Ostrow Wlkp. (#11) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Asseco will play against Polpharma (#17) in Starogard and hope to win that game.
