The game between 10th ranked Shanghai Sharks (10-12) and second ranked Xinjiang Flying Tige (19-3) in Shanghai on Friday ended with biggest points difference. Guests from Urumqi outscored Shanghai Sharks 113-81. The game without a history. Xinjiang Flying Tige led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Xinjiang Flying Tige forced 24 Shanghai Sharks turnovers and outrebounded them 52-29 including a 19-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. Xinjiang Flying Tige looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was a very good performance for American-Filipino power forward Andray Blatche (211-86) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 9 rebounds. International center Qi Zhou (217-96) contributed with 22 points and 8 rebounds (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field) for the winners. American point guard A.J. Price (188-86, college: Connecticut) replied with 12 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and international guard XiaoYu Liu (191-89) added 13 points in the effort for Shanghai Sharks. Four Xinjiang Flying Tige and five Shanghai Sharks players scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Xinjiang Flying Tige have a solid three-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Guangsha L. Shanghai Sharks lost third consecutive game. They keep the tenth place with 12 games lost. Xinjiang Flying Tige will face Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank (#8) in Hangzhou in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Shanghai Sharks will play at home against Shanxi Zhongyu and hope to win that game.
