Regular Season Round 14: Denizli - Meliksah 60-67

The most important game in the last round took place in Denizli between third ranked Denizli (10-4) and fifteenth ranked Meliksah (5-9) on Saturday night. Denizli was defeated by Meliksah in a tough game at home 60-67. It ended at the same time the nine-game winning streak of Denizli. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Denizli won fourth quarter 22-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Meliksah made 19-of-22 free shots (86.4 percent) during the game. Americans were the main players on the court. Guard Jeremy Ingram (190-92, college: N.C.Central) scored 21 points to lead the charge for the winners and Curtis Kelly (205-88, college: Kansas St., agency: HMS) chipped in 14 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Center Hilton Armstrong (210-84, college: Connecticut) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds and point guard Kenny Boynton (188-91, college: Florida) scored 23 points. Denizli's coach Hakan Yavuz rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Meliksah moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with 4 other teams. Denizli at the other side keeps the third position with four games lost. They share it with Sakarya BSB and Gediz. Meliksah is looking forward to face bottom-ranked Istanbul DSI (#18) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Denizli will play against Akhisar Bld (#9) and is hoping to win this game.
