Regular Season Round 19: Dzukija - Siauliai 68-73

Rather predictable result in Alytus where sixth ranked Siauliai (8-9) defeated bottom-ranked Dzukija (2-15) 73-68. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 20-4. But Dzukija won second period 21-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Siauliai dominated on the defensive end, holding Dzukija to just 4 points in first quarter. They also forced 19 Dzukija turnovers. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Cameron Ayers (196-91, college: Bucknell) who led the winners and scored 21 points. His fellow American import point guard Mike Scott (183-93, college: Idaho, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) accounted for 13 points for the winning side. Four Siauliai players scored in double figures. Polish center Adam Lapeta (217-87, agency: Alti Sport) came up with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) and swingman Tadas Rinkunas (195-91) added 14 points respectively for Dzukija in the defeat. Siauliai moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Vytautas. Dzukija at the other side stay at the bottom position with 15 games lost. Siauliai will play against P.Zvaigzdes (#9) in Pasvalys in the next round. Dzukija will have a break next round.
