Regular Season Round 25: Xinjiang FT - Foshan LL 132-123

CBA top team - Xinjiang Flying Tige (22-3) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat twentieth ranked Foshan (3-22) in Urumqi 132-123. The hosts were already 11 points ahead at halftime and as many as 12 after three quarters before a 33-30 last quarter charge of Foshan cut the lead to 132-123 at the end of the game. Xinjiang Flying Tige dominated down low during the game scoring 80 of its points in the paint compared to Foshan's 54 and made 25-of-33 charity shots (75.8 percent) during the game. Xinjiang Flying Tige players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. They brought some defensive toughness making 9 blocks. Foshan was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. American-Filipino power forward Andray Blatche (211-86) stepped up with a triple-double by scoring 36 points (!!!), 11 rebounds and 10 assists for the winners and international center Qi Zhou (217-96) chipped in 26 points, 10 rebounds and 6 blocks (perfect from the field making all eleven shots !!!). At the losing side American swingman Jabari Brown (193-92, college: Missouri, agency: Octagon Europe) responded with 37 points (!!!) and 5 assists and the other American import forward Jerrelle Benimon (203-91, college: Towson) scored 23 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Xinjiang Flying Tige and four Foshan players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Xinjiang Flying Tige have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain first place with 22-3 record. Foshan lost twelfth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 22 lost games. Xinjiang Flying Tige will play against league's second-placed Sichuan BW on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Foshan will play against TianJin Steel (#19) in Tianjin and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
