Important game to mention about took place in Gotha. Fourth ranked Oettinger Rockets Gotha (11-5) saved a 3-point victory at home edging much higher ranked Kirchheim Knights (11-6) 92-89 in the fight for the third place. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Kirchheim Knights. Oettinger Rockets Gotha made 32-of-40 charity shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Kirchheim Knights were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The winners were led by American guard Carlton Guyton (193-90, college: Kent St.) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 20 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists and the other American import power forward Delvon Johnson (206-89, college: Arkansas, agency: Priority Sports) supported him with 17 points and 8 rebounds. Oettinger Rockets Gotha's coach Chris Ensminger allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Even a double-double of 14 points, 14 assists and 4 steals by American point guard Richard Williams (177-87, college: San Diego St.) did not help to save the game for Kirchheim Knights. Center Andreas Kronhardt (205-89) added 25 points and 6 rebounds (made all of his ten free throws !!!) for lost side. Four Oettinger Rockets Gotha and five Kirchheim Knights players scored in double figures. Oettinger Rockets Gotha have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place. Kirchheim Knights at the other side dropped to the fourth position with six games lost. Oettinger Rockets Gotha will play against league's second-placed SC Rasta Vechta on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Kirchheim Knights will play against Koeln Rh.Stars and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
