Regular Season Round 13: Kotwica - Trefl II Sopot 81-59

2Liga top team - Kotwica (12-1) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed ninth ranked Trefl II Sopot (3-10) in Kolobrzeg 81-59. Kotwica dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Trefl II Sopot's 22. They outrebounded Trefl II Sopot 48-29 including a 38-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Kotwica players were unselfish on offense dishing 29 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Trefl II Sopot's players. Forward Pawel Pawlowski (196-82) nailed 22 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side and power forward Pawel Kowalczuk (207-80, college: St.Francis, NY, agency: Promotex) accounted for 8 points and 12 rebounds. Guard Lukasz Kolenda (188-99) came up with 9 points and 5 assists and point guard Szymon Daszke (184-98) added 11 points respectively for Trefl II Sopot in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Kotwica have an impressive series of twelve victories in a row. They maintain first place in Group A with 12-1 record. Trefl II Sopot at the other side dropped to the tenth position with ten games lost. They share it with Itago Gdynia. Kotwica will play against Asseco II (#3) in Gdynia in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Trefl II Sopot will play at home against TKM Wloclawek (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
