Regular Season Round 15: Rimini - Valsesia 70-79
Date: January 3, 2016
There was no surprise when 12th ranked Rimini (5-10) lost at home to ninth ranked Valsesia (8-7) 79-70 on Sunday. Rimini was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for naturalized Swiss Olivier Giacomelli (198-95) who led his team to a victory with 17 points. Point guard Francesco Paolin (189-95) contributed with 15 points for the winners. Four Valsesia players scored in double figures. Riccardo Romano (193-84) answered with 15 points and 8 rebounds and the former international center Francesco Foiera (207-75, agency: Interperformances) added 16 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) in the effort for Rimini. Rimini's coach Georgi Mladenov rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Valsesia moved-up to seventh place in B, which they share with Vicenza and Desio. Loser Rimini dropped to the eleventh position with ten games lost. Valsesia will face San Miniato (#9) at home in the next round. Rimini will play against Piombino and hope to win that game.
