Regular Season Round 11: TLU/Kalev - Valmiera 80-79

The most exciting game of round 11 in the Baltic League took place in Tallinn. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of second-ranked Latvian Valmiera (7-2) to fourth ranked Estonian TLU/Kalev (5-5) 80-79 on Tuesday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Valmiera. Valmiera was trailing by 2 points at halftime but managed to get 5-point lead after three quarters before a 20-14 charge of TLU/Kalev, which allowed them to win the game. Strangely Valmiera outrebounded TLU/Kalev 41-29 including 31 on the defensive glass. Lithuanian center Dominykas Milka (203-92, college: St.Rose, NY) saved the victory by scoring 27 points and 8 rebounds. Canadian guard Johnny Berhanemeskel (188-92, agency: Two Points) contributed with 17 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Martins Laksa (200-90) answered with 14 points and 7 rebounds and center Davis Rozitis (213-90, college: Hawaii) added 12 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Valmiera. Five Valmiera players scored in double figures. TLU/Kalev maintains fourth place with 5-5 record. Valmiera at the other side keeps the second position with two games lost. TLU/Kalev will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Valmiera will play on the road against Barons Riga and is hoping to win this game.
