Regular Season Round 16: Viterbo SA - Isernia 76-60

There was no surprise when 13th ranked Isernia (3-13) was defeated on the road by tenth ranked Viterbo SA (8-8) 76-60 on Wednesday. Viterbo SA outrebounded Isernia 39-28 including 28 on the defensive glass. Isernia was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of power forward Valerio Marsili (200-87) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 10 points and 20 rebounds and guard Fabio Marcante (196-80) who added 20 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Five Viterbo SA players scored in double figures. At the losing side point guard Mirko Gentili (195-93) responded with 20 points and 5 rebounds and swingman Alessandro Guagliardi (194-94) scored 18 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Viterbo SA moved-up to eighth place in B, which they share with Desio. Loser Isernia keeps the thirteenth position with 13 games lost. Viterbo SA will face Fondi (#15) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Isernia will play against Roma Luiss and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
