Not a big story in a game when 10th ranked Mamak DSI (6-10) lost to eighth ranked Gelisim (8-8) in Ankara 64-76 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Gelisim. Mamak DSI managed to win second period 15-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Mamak DSI 41-26 including 27 on the defensive glass. Gelisim looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The winners were led by American center Marvin Jefferson (206-86, college: Idaho) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 27 points and 16 rebounds (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field) and point guard Emir Gokalp (185-95, agency: Ali Guney BA) supported him with 5 points, 8 rebounds and 15 assists. Even a double-double of 12 points and 10 rebounds by American power forward Brandon Peterson (204-90, college: Arkansas St.) did not help to save the game for Mamak DSI. Power forward Nezih Ozbakir (206-80) added 15 points for lost side. Gelisim have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Pertevniyal and Eskisehir Basket. Loser Mamak DSI keeps the tenth position with ten games lost. They share it with 4 other teams. Gelisim will meet at home Meliksah (#12) in the next round where they are favorite. Mamak DSI will play against Gediz and hope to secure a win.
