Regular Season Round 28: Qingdao E. - Xinjiang FT 100-109

Very expected game when 14th ranked Qingdao Eagles (11-17) lost at home to second ranked Xinjiang Flying Tige (23-5) 109-100. Qingdao Eagles were ahead by 2 points at the halftime before a 59-48 second half run of Xinjiang Flying Tige. Qingdao Eagles were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Filipino power forward Andray Blatche (211-86) who helped to win the game recording a triple-double by scoring 35 points (!!!), 12 rebounds and 10 assists and center Wei Liu (210-89) who added 24 points during the contest. At the losing side American center Alan Williams (203-93, college: UCSB) responded with a double-double by scoring 38 points (!!!), 17 rebounds and 5 assists (made all of his eight free throws) and the former international point guard Jie Sun (190-86) scored 22 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Xinjiang Flying Tige keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Sichuan BW. Qingdao Eagles lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the twelfth place with 17 games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Xinjiang Flying Tige will play against Bayi Rockets (#17) in Ningbo in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Qingdao Eagles will play on the road against TianJin Steel (#19) in Tianjin and hope to get back on the winning track.
