Not a big story in a game in Santa Cruz where 12th ranked La Roda (2-8) was defeated by third ranked Tenerife Naut. (7-3) 77-64 on Saturday. La Roda was plagued by 31 personal fouls down the stretch. Point guard Ayoze Alonso (187-91) fired 19 points for the winners. Guard Jose Rodriguez (189-75) chipped in 18 points. Tenerife Naut.'s coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard Stephon Carter (193-91, college: CSU Bakersfield) produced 13 points and 5 steals and the other American import center Blake Vedder (224-91, college: Kent St.) added 12 points respectively for lost side. Tenerife Naut. maintains third place in Group B with 7-3 record having nine points less than leader L'Hospitalet, which they share with Alcazar and Azuqueca. La Roda lost their fourth game in a row. Newly promoted team dropped to the fourteenth position with eight games lost. Tenerife Naut. will face Alcazar (#5) on the road in the next round. La Roda will play against Real Madrid II (#9) and hope to win that game.
