Regular Season Round 13: Ullern - Gimle 58-61

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Ullern (8-1) in Oslo on Sunday night. Hosts were edged by fourth ranked Gimle (6-5) 61-58. It ended at the same time the nine-game winning streak of Ullern. The guests trailed by 3 points after three quarters before their 18-12 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Gimle forced 27 Ullern turnovers. Strangely Ullern outrebounded Gimle 119-91 including a 49-33 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists. The former international guard Tina Moen (180-86, college: IPFW) answered with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds and forward Mia Henriksen (180-84) added 12 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Ullern. Gimle maintains fourth place with 6-5 record. Defending champion Ullern still keeps top position with one game lost. Gimle are looking forward to face higher ranked Ulriken (#3) in Bergen in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Ullern's supporters also look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Oslo to the arena Hoybraten.
