Regular Season Round 30: Xinjiang FT - Shanghai S. 112-103

Leader Xinjiang Flying Tige delivered the twenty fifth victory on Wednesday night. This time they beat 10th ranked Shanghai Sharks (14-16) 112-103 in Urumqi. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Shanghai Sharks won third quarter 31-24. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Xinjiang Flying Tige forced 24 Shanghai Sharks turnovers. American-Filipino power forward Andray Blatche (211-86) had a double-double by scoring 26 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American guard Andrew Goudelock (190-88, college: Charleston) chipped in 35 points (!!!) (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) during the contest. The best for the losing side was American point guard A.J. Price (188-86, college: Connecticut) with 32 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists and center Quanxi Wu (210-94) scored 21 points and 9 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Shanghai Sharks' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Xinjiang Flying Tige have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 25-5 record. Loser Shanghai Sharks keep the tenth place with 16 games lost. They share the position with Shanxi Zh.. Xinjiang Flying Tige will meet Guandong Tigers (#6) in the next round where they are favorite. Shanghai Sharks will play against Zhejiang Guangsha Lions (#3) and hope to secure a win.
