Regular Season Round 16: Nymburk B - Basket Kosice 87-66

No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Nymburk B (10-6) crushed at home 9th ranked Basket Kosice (4-12) 87-66 on Friday. Nymburk B dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Basket Kosice's 38. They outrebounded Basket Kosice 40-29 including a 32-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a very good performance for forward Matej Svoboda (200-96) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 9 rebounds. Martin Peterka (203-95) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. Slovakian forward Miroslav Vansa (197-87) replied with 16 points and 5 rebounds and swingman Jan Nekolny (192-91) added 15 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Basket Kosice. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Nymburk B moved-up to third place in Group A, which they share with Slavoj Litom. Basket Kosice lost sixth consecutive game. Basket Kosice at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the ninth position with 12 games lost. Nymburk B will face Kara Trutnov (#8) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Basket Kosice will play against BK Loko Plzen and hope to win that game.
