Regular Season Round 16: GBA Sparta - USK Praha B 81-79

The most exciting game of round 16 in the 1Liga took place in Praha. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of much higher ranked USK Praha B (11-5) to seventh ranked Sparta Praha (8-8) 81-79 on Friday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of USK Praha B. Sparta Praha looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of center David Jelinek (200-97) who helped to win the game recording 20 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Serbian swingman Djordje Dimitrijevic (192-97) contributed with 22 points and 5 assists (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. Sparta Praha's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Forward Vilem Svoboda (201-95) replied with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds and Marek Mares (190-96) added 17 points and 10 assists in the effort for USK Praha B. Four USK Praha B players scored in double figures. Sparta Praha moved-up to sixth place in Group A, which they share with Sokol Pisek. Newly promoted USK Praha B keeps the second position with five games lost. Sparta Praha is looking forward to face BK Kondori Liberec (#10) on the road in the next round. USK Praha B will play against Sokol Pisek (#7) and is hoping to win this game.
