The game in Gomel was also quite interesting. Second ranked COR-Borisfen (11-1) played at the court of 8th ranked GOCOR-Sozh (1-11). COR-Borisfen defeated GOCOR-Sozh 82-66 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by COR-Borisfen. GOCOR-Sozh was better in fourth quarter 26-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. It was a very good performance for Ukrainian center Maksym Kozlovets (205-90) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds. Swingman Evgeni Ivanov (202-84, agency: Mike Diesel) contributed with 15 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Five COR-Borisfen players scored in double figures. Point guard Tsimafei Viaroukin (187-93) answered with 34 points (!!!) and 5 assists and guard Egor Dudov (190-98) added 9 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for GOCOR-Sozh. GOCOR-Sozh's coach rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for COR-Borisfen. They maintain second place with 11-1 record having just three points less than leader Grodno-93. GOCOR-Sozh lost their third game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with 11 games lost. COR-Borisfen will face Prinemanye (#7) in Grodno in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. GOCOR-Sozh will play on the road against Vitebsk and hope to win that game.
