There was no surprise in Izmir where 12th ranked Meliksah (6-11) was defeated by seventh ranked Gelisim (9-8) 73-66. Meliksah was ahead by 9 points after three quarters before a 28-12 charge of Gelisim, which allowed them to win the game. Americans were the main players on the court. Center Marvin Jefferson (206-86, college: Idaho) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Royce Woolridge (190-92, college: Grand Canyon) contributed with 15 points for the winners. Four Gelisim players scored in double figures. Guard Jeremy Ingram (190-92, college: N.C.Central) answered with 15 points and 5 rebounds and Curtis Kelly (205-88, college: Kansas St., agency: HMS) added 12 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Meliksah. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Gelisim. They maintain seventh place with 9-8 record. Meliksah at the other side keeps the twelfth position with 11 games lost. Gelisim's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Gediz on the road and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Meliksah will play against Akhisar Bld (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
