There was an upset when higher ranked Viterbo SA (8-9) was defeated on the road by fifteenth ranked Fondi (3-14) 62-57 on Saturday. Fondi forced 21 Viterbo SA turnovers. Strangely Viterbo SA outrebounded Fondi 38-26 including 26 on the defensive glass. Viterbo SA was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was guard Joel Myers (183-95) who scored 16 points. Swingman Angelo Luzza (197-95) chipped in 8 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Power forward Valerio Marsili (200-87) produced 7 points and 12 rebounds and guard Fabio Marcante (196-80) added 8 points and 11 rebounds respectively for the guests. Fondi moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Isernia and Maddaloni. Loser Viterbo SA dropped to the eighth position with nine games lost. Fondi will face Venafro (#16) on the road in the next round.
