Regular Season Round 14: Medacbasket - Coin 79-73

Everything could happen in Malaag at the game between two tied teams. Both second ranked Medacbasket and top-ranked Coin had identical 7-2 record. This time Medacbasket used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Coin 79-73 on Saturday night. It was a key game for the top position in Group D-East. The hosts trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 4-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 79-73. The best player for the winners was American forward Alex Jackson (200-84, college: Mo.-St.Louis) who scored 19 points and 6 rebounds. Guard Pedro Ramirez (187-94) chipped in 18 points. Jackson is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Center Juan Vasco (200-83) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds and guard Juan Mendez (181-85) added 16 points respectively for the guests. Four Coin players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Medacbasket (8-2) have an impressive six-game winning streak. They keep a position of Group D-East leader. Loser Coin dropped to the second place with three games lost. Medacbasket will face CAM E.Soler (#8) in Melilla in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Coin will play at home against Cordoba (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
