Regular Season Round 25: BK Kolin - BK Opava 89-76

The game between third ranked BK Opava (15-9) and sixth ranked BK Kolin (10-13) was the most important one in the last round on Saturday night. BK Opava was defeated by BK Kolin in Kolin 89-76. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of BK Opava. The game was mostly controlled by BK Kolin. BK Opava managed to win third quarter 28-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 30-of-36 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game, while BK Opava only scored eight points from the stripe. They outrebounded BK Opava 40-28 including a 32-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. BK Kolin looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. 28 personal fouls committed by BK Opava helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Forward David Machac (205-80) fired a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. Montenegrin Bojan Bakic (195-83) chipped in 21 points and 4 assists (made all of his ten free throws !!!). Four BK Kolin players scored in double figures. Center Viktor Cvek (200-89) produced 14 points and 8 rebounds and the former international guard Jakub Sirina (186-87) added 13 points respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. BK Kolin maintains sixth place with 10-13 record, which they share with Svitavy. BK Opava at the other side keeps the third position with nine games lost. BK Kolin is looking forward to face higher ranked USK Praha (#5) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. BK Opava will play against MMCITE Brno and is hoping to win this game.
