Regular Season Round 12: Guaros - Bucaneros 91-82

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Barquisimeto. Third ranked Guaros faced one of their biggest challengers Bucaneros. Host Guaros (7-3) defeated guests from La Guaira (6-4) 91-82. Bucaneros trailed by 17 points after 3 quarters before a 30-22 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 82-91 at the end of the game. Guaros made 20-of-26 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American guard Zach Graham (198-89, college: Mississippi, agency: Pro Sports) who scored 21 points and 6 rebounds. International point guard Heissler Guillent (186-86) chipped in 20 points and 5 assists. Guaros' coach Nestor Garcia used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was Dominican guard Juan Coronado (193-83) who recorded 21 points and 5 steals and the former international guard John Cox (194-81, college: USF, agency: Pensack Sports) added 18 points respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Guaros moved-up to second place, which they share with Cocodrilos. Bucaneros at the other side keep the fourth position with four games lost. They share it with Panteras. Guaros will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Bucaneros will play at home against the league's leader Marinos (#1) and are hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
