Regular Season Round 17: Opava B - Pardubice 86-80

Everything went according to plan when second ranked B&W Opava B (13-4) beat at home 5th ranked Pardubice (8-8) 86-80 on Friday. B&W Opava B forced 24 Pardubice turnovers. Pardubice was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Point guard Rostislav Dragoun (192-96) stepped up and scored 14 points and 9 rebounds for the winners and center Miroslav Kvapil (198-93) chipped in 16 points and 6 rebounds. Tomas Soukal (202-95) responded with 23 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists and forward Josef Potocek (196-96) scored 18 points (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. B&W Opava B maintains second place in Group B with 13-4 record having just one victory less than leader Sokol Prazky. Newly promoted Pardubice dropped to the sixth position with eight games lost. B&W Opava B will face Sokol Slapnice (#9) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Pardubice will play against MMCITE Brno 2 and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
