Regular Season Round 17: Energa Czarni - Polpharma 83-69

Everything went according to plan when fifth ranked Energa Czarni (12-4) defeated 13th ranked Polpharma (5-12) in Slupsk 83-69. The game was mostly controlled by Energa Czarni. Polpharma was better in second period 20-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Polpharma to just 7 points in first quarter. American swingman Folarin Campbell (189-86, college: George Mason) stepped up and scored 25 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners and Senegalese center Cheikh Mbodj (208-87, college: Cincinnati) chipped in 14 points and 7 rebounds. Four Energa Czarni players scored in double figures. American point guard Johnny Dee (183-92, college: San Diego) responded with 24 points and the other American import swingman Michael Hicks (193-83, college: Central Mo., agency: Court Side) scored 10 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Energa Czarni. They maintain fifth place with 12-4 record. Polpharma at the other side keeps the thirteenth position with 12 games lost. Energa Czarni will play against PGE Turow (#12) in Zgorzelec in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Polpharma will play at home against Stabill and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
