The game between eighth ranked Petrochema (13-14) and 9th ranked Nafta-Uni. (11-16) in Jonava on Friday ended with biggest points difference. Petrochema beat guests from Klaipeda 78-68. The game was mostly controlled by Petrochema. Nafta-Uni. was better in third quarter 18-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Petrochema shot 22 for 30 from the free-throw line, while Nafta-Uni. only scored five points from the stripe. Nafta-Uni. was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for forward Henrikas Vorotnikovas (203-90) who led his team to a victory with 31 points and 7 rebounds. Evaldas Aniulis (186-92, college: High School) contributed with 13 points, 9 rebounds, 8 assists and 5 steals for the winners. Petrochema's coach Kestutis Narusevicius used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Forward Rytis Biliartas (200-91) answered with a double-double by scoring 31 points and 16 rebounds and forward Viktoras Chodosovskis (200-89) added 16 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Nafta-Uni.Petrochema maintains eighth place with 13-14 record. Nafta-Uni. lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with 16 games lost. Petrochema will have a break next round. Nafta-Uni. will play at home against Lietkabelis-2 (#14) and hope to win that game.
