Regular Season Round 15: GOCOR-Sozh - Impuls BGUIR 63-84

Very important is a home loss of GOCOR-Sozh (1-13) against fourth ranked Impuls BGUIR (8-6) on Friday night. Host GOCOR-Sozh unexpectedly was crushed by in Gomel 63-84. The game was mostly controlled by Impuls BGUIR. GOCOR-Sozh was better in second period 21-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Impuls BGUIR forced 24 GOCOR-Sozh turnovers. It was a good game for guard Kiril Volodkin (190-91) who led his team to a victory with 25 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international guard Maksim Shustov (186-86) contributed with 21 points, 5 assists and 6 steals for the winners. Point guard Tsimafei Viaroukin (187-93) answered with 23 points and 7 rebounds and power forward Aleksandr Kopacev (203-95) added 10 points in the effort for GOCOR-Sozh. GOCOR-Sozh's coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Impuls BGUIR have a solid series of three victories in a row. Despite that victory Impuls BGUIR went down to fifth position due to points difference, which they share with Tsmoki II. GOCOR-Sozh lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the second place with 13 games lost.
