Regular Season Round 18: GET Vosges - Challans 77-76

Date: January 22, 2016
Everything went according to plan when seventh ranked GET Vosges (10-8) edged 12th ranked Vendee Challans (7-10) in Golbey 77-76 on Friday. However just one-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. GET Vosges outrebounded Vendee Challans 39-23 including 25 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for American center Kyle Tresnak (208-92, college: Weber St.) who saved his team from a defeat with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Forward Steven Ricard (200-90) contributed with 17 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. GET Vosges' coach Laurent Mathis allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American forward Will Felder (201-91, college: Miami, OH, agency: Court Side) replied with 21 points and 8 rebounds and naturalized Mali point guard Ibrahim Saounera (180-87) added 11 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Vendee Challans. Four Vendee Challans players scored in double figures. GET Vosges moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Caen and Angers BC. Vendee Challans lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the thirteenth position with ten games lost. GET Vosges will face SAP Vaucluse (#9) in Sorgues in the next round. Vendee Challans will play on the road against Mulhouse Basket (#10) and hope to win that game.
