PAOK (#5) was upset in Athens by eighth ranked Nea Kifisia 97-92. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of PAOK. The hosts were ahead by 10 points but lost the second period ending it with a 1-point deficit before their 34-28 run, which allowed them to win the game. Nea Kifisia outrebounded PAOK 36-24 including 27 on the defensive glass. PAOK was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was an exceptional evening for American swingman Muhammad El-Amin (196-87, college: Stony Brook, agency: Inception Sports) who led the winners and scored 23 points and 7 rebounds. Forward Leonidas Kaselakis (202-90) accounted for 25 points for the winning side. American point guard Wiliam Hatcher (188-84, college: Miami, OH) came up with 22 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists and the former international swingman Kostas Vasiliadis (200-84) added 17 points respectively for PAOK in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Nea Kifisia (7-8) moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Apollon Patras. PAOK at the other side keeps the fifth position with seven games lost. Nea Kifisia will play against Lavrio (#11) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. PAOK's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Thessaloniki Aris.
