Tenth-ranked VS Praha (5-12) used its home court advantage to challenge second ranked Sokol Hradec Kralove (12-4) on Saturday. The visitors from Hradec Kralove managed to secure only two-point victory 60-58. However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of VS Praha. Sokol Hradec Kralove dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to VS Praha's 26. They outrebounded VS Praha 49-32 including 17 on the offensive glass. Swingman Katerina Zavazalova (172-90) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds. The former international guard Michaela Stara (175-90) contributed with 12 points for the winners. Power forward Andrea Sladkova (187-91) answered with 16 points and 7 rebounds and forward Katerina Novakova (188-85) added 10 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for VS Praha. Four VS Praha players scored in double figures. Sokol Hradec Kralove have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain second place with 12-4 record having just three points less than leader Nymburk. VS Praha at the other side keeps the tenth position with 12 games lost. Sokol Hradec Kralove are looking forward to face Kara Trutnov (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. VS Praha will play against Basket Slovanka MB (#9) in Vodochody and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
