Regular Season Round 27: Svitavy - Usti n/Labem 81-87

There was a minor upset when 7th ranked Basketbal Svitavy (10-15) was defeated at home by ninth ranked BK Usti nad Labem (9-16) 87-81 on Saturday. Basketbal Svitavy trailed by 12 points after 3 quarters before a 21-15 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 81-87 at the end of the game. Strangely Basketbal Svitavy outrebounded BK Usti nad Labem 48-36 including 33 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was forward Ladislav Pecka (197-91) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds. American guard Drew Barham (198-89, college: Gonzaga) chipped in 17 points and 7 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American power forward Nicchaeus Doaks (201-87, college: Chattanooga, agency: HMS) who recorded a double-double by scoring 22 points and 19 rebounds and Canadian point guard Jahmal Jones (183-91) added 21 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. BK Usti nad Labem maintains ninth place with 9-16 record. Loser Basketbal Svitavy keeps the seventh position with 15 games lost. They share it with NH Ostrava. BK Usti nad Labem will meet at home higher ranked BK Kolin (#6) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Basketbal Svitavy will play against BK Pardubice and hope to secure a win.
