Thirteenth-ranked Biofarm PZN (5-14) gave a tough game to fifth ranked Znicz Basket (12-7) in Poznan on Saturday. The visitors from Pruszkow managed to secure only one-point victory 61-60. However their fans expected much easier game. Znicz Basket forced 20 Biofarm PZN turnovers. Center Dawid Slupinski (206-92) fired a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Swingman Damian Janiak (195-89) chipped in 12 points. Swingman Jakub Fiszer (187-95) produced 10 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Piotr Wieloch (182-94) added 13 points respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Znicz Basket maintains fifth place with 12-7 record, which they share with Pogon Prudnik. Newly promoted Biofarm PZN keeps the thirteenth position with 14 games lost. They share it with AZS AWF Mick. and Slask 2 Wroclaw. Znicz Basket will meet higher ranked Legia W-wa (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Biofarm PZN will play against Spojnia (#9) in Stargard and hope to secure a win.
