Regular Season Round 16: AZS AWF M. II - Polonia Bytom 63-87

No shocking result in a game in Katowice where first ranked Polonia Bytom (14-2) outleveled 10th ranked AZS AWF M. II (4-12) 87-63 on Saturday. Polonia Bytom dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to AZS AWF M. II's 28. Polonia Bytom forced 20 AZS AWF M. II turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Emil Podkowinski (194-88) who helped to win the game recording 33 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws) and forward Grzegorz Zadecki (195-83) who added 16 points during the contest. At the losing side guard Jaroslaw Kolenda (190-86) responded with 16 points and point guard Michal Kozak (179-92) scored 10 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Polonia Bytom maintains first position in Group C with 14-2 record, which they share with AZS AGH Alstom. Loser AZS AWF M. II keeps the tenth place with 12 games lost. Polonia Bytom will face league's second-placed AZS AGH Alstom in Krakow in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. AZS AWF M. II will play on the road against MCKiS Jaworz. (#3) in Jaworzno and hope to win that game.
