Regular Season Round 15: Igualada - Martorell 61-60

Very expected game when 10th ranked Martorell (5-10) was edged on the road by third ranked Igualada (8-7) 61-60 on Saturday. However just one-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Martorell won fourth quarter 17-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Igualada forced 22 Martorell turnovers. It was a great evening for forward Albert Del Hoyo (192-92) who led his team to a victory scoring 14 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Jordi Torres (188-83) helped adding 18 points and 4 assists. The best for the losing side was power forward Nil Sabata (205-96) with 14 points and 6 rebounds and guard Pau Viros (186-93) scored 11 points and 4 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Newly promoted Igualada maintains third place in Group C-B with 8-7 record having seven points less than leader L'Hospitalet, which they share with Santfeliuenc. Martorell lost their fifth game in a row. They dropped to the eighth position with ten games lost. Igualada will face Miramar (#5) in the next round. Martorell will play against Castelldefels and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
