Regular Season Round 13: UL Eagles - UCC Demons 62-85

The game in Limerick supposed to be also quite interesting. Second ranked UCC Demons (11-2) played at the court of 7th ranked UL Eagles (5-8). UCC Demons smashed UL Eagles 85-62 on Sunday. UCC Demons forced 22 UL Eagles turnovers and outrebounded them 46-28 including a 38-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when UCC Demons made 7 blocks. American forward Lehmon Colbert (198-88, college: Jacksonville) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and international point guard Kyle Hosford (175-89) chipped in 10 points, 13 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 steals. Five UCC Demons players scored in double figures. At the losing side American guard Staats Battle (198-93, college: N.Carolina St.) responded with 22 points and 5 rebounds and Eoin Quigley scored 15 points and 9 rebounds. UCC Demons have a solid series of four victories in a row. Defending champion maintains second place with 11-2 record having just one point less than leader Templeogue. UL Eagles at the other side keep the seventh position with eight games lost. UCC Demons will meet at home DCU Saints (#8) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. UL Eagles will play against Moycullen in Galway and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
