Regular Season Round 33: DongGuan L. - Xinjiang FT 81-97

There was no surprise when 9th ranked DongGuan Leopards (16-17) were defeated at home by second ranked Xinjiang Flying Tige (26-7) 97-81. DongGuan Leopards were tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. Xinjiang Flying Tige made 17-of-20 charity shots (85.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 DongGuan Leopards turnovers. American-Filipino power forward Andray Blatche (211-86) nailed a double-double by scoring 21 points, 16 rebounds, 6 assists and 6 steals for the winning side and international forward Gen Li (196-88) accounted for 19 points. Four Xinjiang Flying Tige players scored in double figures. American point guard Bobby Brown (188-84, college: CS Fullerton) came up with 25 points and 6 rebounds and the former international power forward TongLin Sun (208-92) added 11 points and 6 rebounds respectively for DongGuan Leopards in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Xinjiang Flying Tige keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Liaoning H. DongGuan Leopards at the other side keep the ninth place with 17 games lost. Xinjiang Flying Tige's next round opponent will be Zhejiang Guangsha Lions (#6) in Hangzhou which should be theoretically an easy game. DongGuan Leopards will play at home against Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
