Very expected game when 11th ranked Roma S.Azzurra (7-11) lost on the road to second ranked Napoli Basket (15-3) 67-61 on Sunday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Roma S.Azzurra was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for swingman Christian Villani (200-82) who led his team to a victory with 17 points and 4 assists. The former international forward Michele Giovanatto (202-81) contributed with 11 points for the winners. Napoli Basket's coach Giampaolo Di Lorenzo used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Montenegrin forward Todor Radonjic (200-97) replied with 13 points and Serbian Lazar Nikolic (200-99) added 9 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Roma S.Azzurra. Napoli Basket maintains second position in B with 15-3 record behind leader Forli, which they share with Bergamo. Loser Roma S.Azzurra dropped to the ninth place with 11 games lost. Napoli Basket will face Scafati Cesarano (#6) on the road in the next round. Roma S.Azzurra will play against Scauri and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
